Animal Resources
i) To increase awareness amongst the rural masses regarding improved animal Husbandry practices.
ii) To Provide gainful self-employment to the weaker sections of the society in livestock sector.
iii) To create and maintain a “Disease Free Status” of major production areas so as to boost export of livestock products.
iv) To make Animal Resources Development an engine of growth of the rural economy of West Bengal, providing income and livelihood opportunities to the people.
v) To make dairying a viable livelihood option for small , marginal farmers and landless persons by strengthening all forward and backward linkages.
vi) To enable poor farmers to improve the productivity of animals like sheep,goat and cow etc.
vii) To make backyard poultry a popular and viable subsidiary farming activity in rural areas.
viii) To achieve self/sufficient surplus milk,meat and egg production.
ix) To enhance per capita availability of milk,eggs, and meat including poultry meat.
x) To enhance availability of feed and fodder for economic dairy farming.
xi) To provide efficient veterinary services at the door step of Farmers.
